Suspect leads police on high-speed chase through Ohio golf course
A suspect wanted in an attempted murder case led police on a high-speed chase that crossed multiple areas of Ohio and briefly entered a golf course, authorities reported. On the evening of July 7, police pursued a vehicle through Hudson and Stow that traveled into Fox Den Golf Course in Stow. There was no damage to the course, according to Brian Suydam, assistant manager of Fox Den Golf Course. Police said Julius Edwards, 39, of Canton, was wanted in connection with the attempted murder investigation; during the pursuit he crashed into a Summit Metro Parks cruiser in Stow and was taken into custody. After being spotted first in Hudson and failing to pull over, he crashed into another car while fleeing. Edwards exited his vehicle and fired at a pursuing trooper, who returned fire, before he ran into nearby woods. Police later located him driving a stolen minivan shortly before 8:25 p.m. Witnesses said the chase entered the course around 8:30 p.m., exited near Hole 6, and the course remained dry, preventing damage.
