Taipei will auction a seized fleet of luxury supercars next week, including Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz vehicles tied to alleged Banking Act violations and fraud cases. The Taipei District Prosecutors Office has tasked the Administrative Enforcement Agency’s Shilin Branch with organizing the public auction on July 14. The government is selling the cars to dispose of seized assets while preserving their value, and detailed vehicle information, including exterior and interior photos, has been posted on the AEA’s auction website. The Shilin Branch noted that high-value vehicles can accrue significant storage costs over long holding periods and may depreciate quickly. Members of the public can inspect the vehicles from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on July 14, then register during the viewing period, present identification documents, and pay a NT$3,000 cash deposit (about US$100) to receive a bidding number. The auction follows a March sale in which Taiwan auctioned 33 supercars and sold 24, generating NT$4.3662 billion (about US$133 million).
