Telo is increasing the tow rating of its compact electric pickup, the MT1, to 8,000 lbs from 6,600 lbs previously advertised. Co-founder and CTO Forest North said months of real-world towing convinced the company the small truck can safely pull more than its size suggests, citing his own travel-trailer needs. The update puts the 152-inch vehicle’s towing capability roughly in line with a base Ford F-150. The MT1 measures about the length of a Mini Cooper but includes a full 60- to 96-inch bed and seats up to five. It uses a dual-motor AWD system rated at 500 hp, with 77 kWh (260 miles) or 106 kWh (350-plus miles) packs. Pricing starts at $41,520, with first deliveries targeted for late 2026.
