Tesla 'Cannot Guarantee' Roadster Reservation Holders Will Ever Get a Car
Tesla says it cannot guarantee delivery timing—or even whether the next-generation Roadster will be delivered—to reservation holders. The new reservation agreement on Tesla’s website states the car is still under development, so the company “cannot guarantee” when, or if, it will arrive. Customers are still asked to place up to $250,000 upfront, and the document clarifies reservations only provide an “approximate” spot in line if production starts, not a confirmed build slot. Because features and options may change during development, Tesla also frames any discussed purchase price as an estimate and says exact pricing will be available when customers are invited to configure. Tesla estimates production in 2028, despite repeated delays and the prior Roadster never reaching production.
