The driver who slammed into an LA bus before helicopter crash is charged with murder

A driver of a 2004 Ford Expedition has been charged with murder after prosecutors said she was under the influence of drugs when she swerved into the wrong lane, ran a red light, and struck a Los Angeles city bus—killing two passengers. Bailee Lynn Rios, 36, faces two counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Daniel Castillo, 46, and Gage Weida, 31. The crash occurred Tuesday, and the tragedy was compounded by a subsequent fatal crash of a TV news helicopter covering the collision. Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Rios was speeding and impaired. She was being held on $4.1 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
