The new Smart #2 is positioned as a compact, city-focused alternative in a market dominated by larger crossovers. Premiering at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, the electric two-seater revives the original Smart concept from 30 years earlier, with a length of 2,746 mm. The Couture Edition extends it slightly to 2,764 mm. Smart says the #2’s 6.95-meter curb-to-curb turning circle supports tight urban maneuvering. Under the skin, it uses Mercedes’ new Electric Compact Architecture (ECA) with a rear-mounted 80 hp motor and 130 Nm torque to the rear wheels. Smart quotes 11.6 seconds to 100 km/h and a top speed of 140 km/h, while emphasizing light weight at 1,140 kg and an LFP 35.8 kWh battery.
