These Volkswagen EVs could soon disappear, including Audi and Porsche models

Several Volkswagen EVs, including models sold under Audi and Porsche, may be discontinued as the group plans to shrink its lineup by up to 50% by 2030. The announcement follows Volkswagen’s plan to cut global headcount by as much as 100,000 as part of cost-cutting efforts. Volkswagen did not name specific vehicles, but Bild reported that 10 models are being axed, including some electric cars and the popular Jetta sedan and Taos SUV. The report also links the Europe-and-UK-only ID.5 electric SUV coupe to possible cancellation. For Porsche, Bild says the gas 718 and the electric Taycan will not get next-generation replacements, and Porsche previously said the gas Macan ends production later this month. Under Audi, the Q5 Sportback and electric Q6 E-Tron Sportback were listed, while the E-Tron GT was not mentioned.
