This 1.5 MW electric truck charger just cleared a key US hurdle

Portuguese EV charging company i-charging has cleared a major step toward rolling out its 1.5-megawatt i-light electric truck charger in the US and Canada. The company says the unit received Intertek ETL certification, confirming compliance with electrical safety standards for DC fast charging in both countries. In the US, it references UL 2202 and UL 2231, while in Canada it cites CSA C22.2 No. 346. i-light is aimed at medium- and heavy-duty EVs and supports both CCS and Megawatt Charging System (MCS). CCS reaches up to 800 kW, while MCS is rated up to 1.5 MW with up to 1,500 amps continuously.
