Toyota Motor Corporation, Volvo Group and Daimler Truck have signed binding agreement for Toyota to join cellcentric as equal shareholder
xCruzo Brief
Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, cellcentric and Toyota Motor Corporation have signed a binding agreement that will make Toyota an equal partner and shareholder in cellcentric. Under the deal, each party will hold one third of the company. The arrangement follows a non-binding agreement signed at the end of March and is subject to regulatory approvals, with completion expected around year-end 2026 or start of 2027. The partners aim to strengthen cellcentric’s position as a leading developer and manufacturer of fuel-cell systems for heavy-duty commercial applications. cellcentric will remain independent, serving customers in on-road and off-road transport, coaches, stationary power generation, rail and heavy off-highway equipment.
