Toyotas Are So Hot, They Are Flying Off The Lot
xCruzo Brief
Toyota dealers are running out of inventory while rivals sit on months of unsold cars, underscoring how quickly the market’s balance has shifted. Cox Automotive estimates Toyota has just a 35-day supply of vehicles, the lowest among major brands, compared with a US industry average of 82 days of supply. Edmunds’ Jessica Caldwell said it’s “really unusual” to see cars “fly off” lots. Lexus follows at 41 days, while Ram reaches 152. For top-selling models, the Corolla is 11th with 195,141 units sold, the Tacoma 9th with 214,875, the RAV4 7th with 253,644, and the Camry 6th with 260,684. Pricing also helps: the RAV4 starts around $32,000 and the Corolla near $23,000.
