Travel sector deserves recognition for technological progress
Travel sector deserves recognition for technological progress, a view argued by Tony Wheble, CEO of reviews platform Feefo, based on work with more than 1,000 travel businesses. Wheble disputes the claim that travel is behind on technology, saying customers in travel demand high standards of service and the leading brands have built advanced feedback and insight systems. He frames Feefo as a value exchange used by consumers seeking verified information and by businesses relying on honest insight to improve. Over 16 years, he cites major travel operators including Thomas Cook variants in his examples: Dertour, BA Holidays, easyJet holidays and Awaze Group. He stresses the integrity of open review platforms, warning that fake reviews undermine consumer trust and distort data. Wheble adds that negative feedback can be valuable if handled with a thoughtful, human response, and that closing the loop after a review helps turn transactions into longer-term customer relationships.
