Trump Says 'There Hasn't Been Shooting For Months' -- As U.S. Strikes Iran

U.S. forces struck Iran’s Qeshm Island on Monday in a series of limited attacks, according to unnamed U.S. officials cited by the Wall Street Journal. The report said an American fighter jet returned fire after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a surface-to-air missile, and that U.S. forces also intercepted a missile launched from Qeshm toward commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. A U.S. official cited by CNN described the strikes as a “defensive measure.” The U.S. Central Command had not publicly confirmed the attacks. In a Fox News interview, President Donald Trump said the U.S. “is not fighting a war,” claiming there “hasn’t been shooting for months.”
