Video shows deadly crash involving pickup truck and flatbed semi in Palmetto Bay

A fatal crash involving a Dodge Ram pickup and a flatbed semi occurred early Saturday morning in Palmetto Bay, Florida. The collision happened at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Southwest 184 Street. Surveillance video captured the pickup slamming into the semi’s flatbed, and the impact sparked a small fire inside the truck. The Florida Highway Patrol said the man driving the Dodge Ram died at the scene, while officials confirmed the flatbed driver was not injured. Authorities closed U.S. 1 for several hours between Southwest 183 Street and 186 Street. The identity of the deceased driver was not released.
