Volkswagen and Audi recall over 208,000 vehicles. See affected models

Volkswagen Group said Friday it is recalling 2.86 million Volkswagen and Audi vehicles worldwide to replace a faulty screw that can cause drivers to lose steering control. In the U.S., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall affects more than 208,000 vehicles. Models listed include the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2018–2019 Volkswagen Atlas, and the 2019–2021 Audi Q3. Volkswagen says the bolt that attaches the right steering rack to the subframe may corrode prematurely when moisture enters, especially over time with road salt. The potential issue is a loss of steering capability at low speeds, including parking or maneuvering. No injuries or property damage incidents are known. Repairs will be free and take up to an hour.
