Volkswagen Group & Elli Bring Vehicle-to-Grid Offer to the Volume Market!

Volkswagen Group and Elli are bringing Vehicle-to-Grid technology to the mass market by packaging bidirectional charging offerings for customers in Germany. The initiative, presented at Power2Drive in Munich, combines compatible electric vehicles from Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and CUPRA with the Elli BiDi Charger, the Volkswagen Naturstrom V2G Flow electricity tariff and the Elli BiDi App. Elli says roughly one million MEB-based Volkswagen Group vehicles in Europe are already prepared for bidirectional charging, providing a technical base for a gradual rollout. Vehicle-to-Grid allows EV batteries to feed electricity back into the grid during defined time windows. The goal is to create energy-market participation and potential savings for owners while adding flexibility for the wider power system. Interested customers can register their interest from the start of the trade fair.
