Wannabe Vin Diesel' has VW seized at Castle Donington car meet

Leicestershire Police seized a Volkswagen after a driver tried to block a road during an illegal car cruise in Castle Donington. Officers said intelligence that a large group would gather on Saturday night proved correct, and they intercepted and dispersed a number of people attempting to drag race in the village. Valley Beat officers reported that one driver “decided it would be a good idea to block the road,” apparently trying to recreate a scene from Fast & Furious. PCSO Mike Walker said the driver was instead hit with a vehicle seizure and a fine. Police also said significant footage was obtained and that further action, including fines, could follow. Enforcement has included CCTV/ANPR since 2012 and Public Spaces Protection Order measures introduced in 2021 and extended in 2024.
