Was promised I could be the next Rylan Clark but this is the real X Factor'
George Windsor said he auditioned for ITV’s The X Factor in 2016 hoping it would launch his music career, after being told he could be the next Rylan Clark. At age 21, he performed for judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger, and received three “yeses,” later describing the experience as being on a high-profile platform with cameras everywhere. Windsor, now 31 and from Hednesford in Cannock, said trolling followed the broadcast, including abuse from people he went to school with, and claimed a former manager promised him guaranteed progress that never happened. He said the show’s focus shifted toward winners and the next series, and he also felt he was not ready for the music industry at the time, noting he needed vocal work and has changed since the audition.
