Why The XPENG L03 Could Redefine The Global EV Market With Physical AI

XPENG is positioning the new L03 as a vehicle designed for the global EV market by building on its SEPA 3.0 platform and tailoring tuning for European requirements. The company says the L03 is being launched simultaneously in 65 markets, after a preview in Beijing in April, and will be the first XPENG model to offer its Kunpeng range-extender (REEV) technology internationally. In Europe, XPENG’s approach includes a focus on powertrain mix because BEV conditions vary, from charging availability to electricity cost. The L03 will initially debut in four variants: Standard Range with a 58.3kWh battery and 180kW rear-wheel-drive motor; Long Range with a 71.2kWh pack; AWD Performance with dual motors rated at 285kW; and a REEV version with a 37.5kWh battery plus a 1.5-liter internal-combustion engine. XPENG’s Jacky Gu, ATC chairman and E-powertrain vice president, said the calibration for Europe is part of a “local for local” philosophy.
