Working On New BEV-N Electric Vehicle Platform

General Motors is working on a new dedicated BEV-N electric-vehicle platform as the next step in its EV roadmap. The company’s current BEV3 architecture, which underpins models including the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Chevrolet Blazer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Cadillac Optiq, Cadillac Vistiq and Cadillac Celestiq, is expected to be succeeded by BEV-N. According to sources, the platform’s rollout is anticipated by the end of the decade, with first production vehicles expected to begin rolling off near late 2028 or early 2029. The first BEV-N vehicle is reportedly the next-generation Chevy Equinox EV, followed by the next-generation Chevy Blazer EV. BEV3 launched for the 2023 model year and supports RWD, FWD and AWD.
