Wrong-way driver dead after series of crashes in Redford Township

A multi-vehicle crash in Redford Township, Wayne County, Michigan, left one person dead after a wrong-way driver incident Sunday night. Authorities said eight vehicles were involved in crashes along Telegraph Road at Five Mile Road around 11 p.m. A burgundy Durango, traveling north in the southbound lanes, struck two vehicles north of Five Mile Road, then hit another at a nearby stoplight while fleeing at high speed. The Durango driver died later at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital. The other occupants sustained minor or no injuries, and the stretch of Telegraph was briefly closed for investigation.
