Yamaha selects new crew chief to aid Jorge Martin's 2027 MotoGP adaptation

Yamaha has named David Munoz—currently Alex Rins’ crew chief—to work alongside Jorge Martin for the 2027 MotoGP season, as teams finalize their technical plans ahead of the new regulations cycle. Yamaha’s move pairs Martin with Ai Ogura in the factory squad. Martin, who debuted in the premier class in 2021 with Pramac Ducati and won the 2024 MotoGP world title before switching to Aprilia, is set to join Yamaha on a multi-year deal. Reports from Motorsport.com say Munoz will lead Martin’s side of the garage to speed his adaptation to the M1. Munoz joined Yamaha’s factory team in 2020 after Valentino Rossi selected him to replace Silvano Galbusera.
