Alan Jackson's emotional farewell concert: "If anyone has lived the American dream, it's me"
Country music legend Alan Jackson delivered a final touring performance at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Saturday night, ending a career that began in the 1980s and surged during the widely cited 1990s country wave. The concert, titled “Last Call: One More for the Road -- The Finale,” was framed as a celebration of Jackson’s life and music, featuring artists he directly inspired. Carrie Underwood sang “Everything I Love,” while Thomas Rhett performed “Small Town Southern Man” and Miranda Lambert took the stage with “Dallas.” Additional guests included Luke Combs (“Hard Hat and a Hammer”), Lainey Wilson (“Tall, Tall Trees”), and Eric Church, who covered “Someday” with an acoustic-only approach. Jackson, 67, has spoken publicly about Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, diagnosed about a decade earlier. The show followed a storm delay of roughly one hour and, after 9:35 p.m., he returned to the stage for “Gone Country.” Proceeds from one dollar per ticket benefited the CMT Research Foundation.
