Amazon hikes Kindle, Echo, and Fire TV prices as AI-fueled memory squeeze spreads

Amazon has raised prices on several devices including Kindle, Echo, and Fire TV Stick models, citing higher memory and storage costs. According to reporting by Gizmodo and Fortune, the increases affect products that were marketed as relatively affordable entry points. Notable jumps include the base 16GB Kindle moving from $110 to $150, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max from $60 to $85, the Echo Dot (5th Gen) from $50 to $80, and the Echo Show 21 from $400 to $500. Lower-memory devices also rose, including the Kindle Kids ($130 to $180) and Kindle Colorsoft ($250 to $290), while some models like Kindle Scribe ($400) and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft ($680) kept their starting prices. Gizmodo also says Amazon ended software support for certain pre-2012 Kindle models.
