Australia-based musician releases 'deeply personal' Porchlight ahead of UK tour

Ruby Gill, a musician and poet based in Australia, has released the single “Porchlight” ahead of her third album and upcoming UK tour. The track is the final single from her forthcoming record, Fishing is not about fishing, due out on October 16. Gill will also support fellow Australian folk artist GORDI on the UK run that begins in Bristol on October 14 and ends in Oslo in London on October 20. In describing “Porchlight,” she called it “deeply personal,” linking it to the experience of dating and hoping the past will stop shaping the present. She said the album was recorded in London and shifts toward a fuller band sound, with her lead vocals recorded live.
