Big Bang Theory Follow-up Series & More HBO Max Releases This Week

HBO Max is set to expand its lineup with a Big Bang Theory follow-up and multiple new titles between July 20 and July 26, 2026. The week’s highlighted Max Original is “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, described as the second direct spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. The series follows comic book shop owner Stuart Bloom, who must restore reality after a device made by Sheldon and Leonard is broken by him. He is joined by his girlfriend Denise, quantum physicist Barry Kripke, and geologist Bert, with Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and John Ross Bowie in key roles. Cast members discussed easter eggs and promised cameos in interviews with E! News. Other HBO Max additions for the period include reality, home and competition programming, such as “Naked and Afraid: Global Showdown” and “Roast My Rental.”
