Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon close fashion line

Brendan Courtney and Sonya Lennon have confirmed that their fashion label Lennon Courtney has stopped production and will be “rested.” The duo launched the brand in 2013 and first collaborated after being paired as co-hosts on RTÉ’s Off the Rails in 2008, later building more than a decade of work together. They said the decision is not due to bankruptcy, but because competing projects took increasing time and they felt they could not give the label the attention it needs. Brendan told EVOKE they are focusing on his own furniture designs and taking a year off, while Sonya described the brand as “having a little lie-down.” After five seasons as an independent label, Lennon Courtney partnered with Dunnes in 2015, launching the Lennon Courtney at Dunnes Stores collection starting in September 2015 with a range inspired by Irish fashion figures. In 2023, the designers exited Dunnes after a new partnership with Kilkenny Design.
