Country music artist Colt Ford says he’s stepping away from the stage for the rest of 2026 after a bus crash on Aug. 12 left him needing multiple surgeries. In an Instagram video, Ford told fans his injuries were more serious than first believed and that he must cancel remaining shows this year to focus on recovery, while planning to return next year. His message also thanked supporters and referenced continued work on “a handful” of new tracks. The Virginia State Fair canceled his Sept. 30 appearance, citing advice from doctors, and it said the team is finding a replacement artist.
