Culture Wars bet on themselves with Taipei show | Taiwan News | Nov. 1, 2026 15:56

Austin-based band Culture Wars is set to play Taipei’s Legacy on Nov. 13, its only headline date during an Asia tour and a key test for turning an online audience into ticket sales. Frontman Alex Duggan said the group learned during the pandemic that Las Vegas casinos offered free hotel rooms to blackjack players, spending about six weeks across three stays at the Wynn—writing music in rooms by day and gambling at night. Over the past year, Culture Wars has focused on selling rooms without festival slots, including sellouts in Warsaw and Stockholm and two nights at Los Angeles’ Troubadour. Duggan linked the approach to patient single-by-single releases, melody-first songwriting, and close fan interaction.
