David Byrne releases 'Who Is The Sky?' deluxe album

David Byrne has released a digital deluxe edition of his album Who Is The Sky?, marking its first anniversary and adding four new bonus tracks. The deluxe follows a collaboration with Ghost Train Orchestra and originally debuted in the top ten across multiple Billboard charts. Byrne used the release to revisit what an album means, arguing that physical formats implied fixed song order, while streaming and downloads can change length and flow over time. He says the cohesion now comes from songs written and recorded around the same period. The new edition includes two cut songs and features commentary on “My Madness” and “T-Shirt,” with “T-Shirt” described as an older track reappearing in recent setlists. Byrne is also preparing a final World Tour stop at New York’s Forest Hills Stadium and has announced a concert film directed by Brady Corbet, plus a book scheduled for release on Oct. 6, 2026 in North America and Oct. 8, 2026 in the UK.
