Don Toliver concert ends early in Houston as police detain man with weapon

The sold-out Don Toliver concert at Houston’s Toyota Center ended about 10 minutes early Tuesday evening after Houston police and a Live Nation official said officers detained a man during a law enforcement investigation. Toliver still performed nearly a full set for the hometown crowd, but the show wrapped early “out of an abundance of caution for the safety of fans, the artist, and event staff.” Police were called around 11 p.m. after a 30-year-old attempted to go through a metal detector with a weapon, according to Houston Police Department. The man was taken to the Harris County Joint Processing Center, with no charges filed as of Wednesday afternoon. The Nitrous World Tour continues Thursday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
