The show premiered Oct. 8 and has drawn 17 million views, which Netflix calls the most-watched Canadian debut ever. Heaton plays Wade, a fisherman’s son confronting a mysterious sea creature, and he praised the province on The Drew Barrymore Show—highlighting its welcoming culture and even comparing it to the inspiration behind Come From Away.
