Ewan McGregor's New Cloverfield-Like Sci-Fi Thriller Officially Breaks 12-Year MPA Streak
Ewan McGregor’s upcoming sci-fi thriller The End of Oak Street has received a PG-13 rating, ending a 12-year streak from the Motion Picture Association with no such rating for him. The film, releasing August 14, was previously titled Flowervale Street and is rated for strong violent content, bloody images, strong language, and suggestive material. Director David Robert Mitchell’s project marks his first non-R-rated film since It Follows in 2015. Mitchell co-wrote and directed, with J.J. Abrams among the producers through Bad Robot. The cast includes McGregor alongside Anne Hathaway, Maisy Stella, Christian Convery, Jordan Alexa Davis, P.J. Byrne, and Chris Coy. The story follows a family who discovers uncharted territory when dinosaurs arrive and realize their neighborhood has seemingly moved. The article also notes Hathaway’s film slate for 2026 and McGregor’s extensive screen résumé, including his Emmy win for Fargo.
