Few Good Men' and a Benjamin Button musical highlight fall theater slate

A new fall theater season across Washington, D.C., and the surrounding region promises revivals, originals, and returning productions with starry casts. At GALA Hispanic Theatre, “Garbo: The Actor Who Saved the World,” written by Gustavo Ott, is staged in Spanish with English surtitles through Sept. 27, with original music by Koki Lortkipanidze. In Arlington’s Signature Theatre, “Merrily We Roll Along” arrives through Nov. 1, directed by Matthew Gardiner and starring Jason Gotay, Jake Loewenthal and Melanie Field, after a 19-year gap since the company’s last take. Round House Theatre in Bethesda runs “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” from Sept. 9 to Oct. 11. Ford’s Theatre hosts “Come From Away” Sept. 10 to Oct. 18.
