Frankenstein Returns Without Ed Sheeran
A reimagined stage version of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will return to Greenwich Theatre, marking the British Youth Music Theatre’s first-ever production at the venue. The musical, described as an adaptation with epic, atmospheric music and haunting harmonies, will be performed by a cast of 38 young actors and musicians. Award-winning writer Victoria Gimby joins the original writing team of Jimmy Jewell and Nick Stimson to create a fresh version 20 years after the show premiered at Theatre Royal Plymouth. It later ran at London’s Cochrane Theatre in 2008 and previously included a young Ed Sheeran, who is now a BYMT Patron. The production is set for performances on 28 August at 19:30, 29 August at 14:30 and 19:30, and 30 August at 14:30. The company also announced funding from the Boris Karloff Foundation to support creative work placement roles.
