Queensland police allege that Sam Wood, a fitness influencer and former Bachelor Australia contestant, assaulted a partner on Hastings Street in Noosa Heads over the recent King’s Birthday weekend. Wood, 46 and a Victorian, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting, and was refused bail. The alleged victim(s) were not identified under Queensland laws, nor was the caller. Media named him as Wood before his court appearance. Through his lawyer, Wood said he intended to “defend the charges,” and a joint statement posted online said the couple would cooperate with authorities. On Thursday, Maroochydore magistrates heard Snezana alleged she “thought she was going to die.”
