JBL Addresses Vince Russo WWE Return Rumors, Sees One Major Obstacle

JBL said he expects no return for Vince Russo to WWE in a major creative role, though he didn’t rule out some level of involvement. The remarks came after rumors circulated that Russo had reached out to WWE President Nick Khan. Russo left JCW recently and previously held significant creative responsibilities during WWE’s Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars versus WCW. Speaking on his “Something to Wrestle” podcast, JBL responded “Zero” when asked about Russo becoming head of creative. JBL argued that even if Russo contributed ideas, WWE likely wouldn’t overhaul its current creative structure given its strong business performance, including selling out major arenas and airing roughly 50 hours of programming weekly.
