Kapan Fest 2026: Celebration of music, art, cultural heritage
Kapan Fest 2026 is set to bring a classical-music and arts program back to Armenia’s Syunik Province, with the Kapan International Music Festival returning for its fourth straight year. Scheduled for 10 days in 2026, the event is described as turning Kapan into a venue for live performances and international cultural cooperation, bringing artists from 16 countries. The festival will include soloists, conductors, and chamber music performers, and it features the Kapan Fest Academy with 55 selected young musicians who will attend intensive master classes and share the stage with established artists. Organizers list numerous sponsors, including Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Kapan Municipality, and the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine, along with several international partners and individuals, and the article states all concerts will be free for audiences. New participants and first-time appearances include violinist Gilles Apap and Tomas Lundström in Armenia for the first time, plus Andrey Baranov and several viola players. The program also references a “Viennese Evening in Kapan” event.
