Lake County Fair opens with new vendors, entertainers in its 174th year
The Lake County Fair will open Friday with new vendors, concerts, and several booth location changes, marking its 174th year. Fair officials say there will be more food booths, including a chocolate covered strawberry stand. The conservation building has been repaired and updated, and the family arts and crafts building will close temporarily due to a restoration project, with the department moving to the industrial building. The flower show will also be held there. A strolling piano performer will move around the fair during the first weekend. The industrial building will host 12 vendors inside, including Dan’s Bird Houses, Bonesteel’s Flag Pole, B’s Marketplace, and Emma’s Beauty Boutique. The fair runs Aug. 7 through Aug. 16, with 4-H horse and pony shows Aug. 10 and 11.
