Lea Salonga delivers memorable DFP debut with brother at the podium

Lea Salonga marked a major milestone for Malaysian fans with her debut at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC, delivering sold-out performances as part of From Broadway To Disney: Lea Salonga With The MPO. All three shows last month filled the venue, with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) welcoming Salonga, 55, at the final matinee through a special overture of her best-known songs. The orchestra was led by resident conductor Gerard Salonga, her younger brother and a long-awaited musical reunion after years of delays. Salonga opened despite feeling under the weather with Pure Imagination and A Million Dreams. She also noted it was the first time she’d performed with her brother conducting.
