LNO returns to First Pres for Nov. 8 concert
The Lake Norman Orchestra will return to First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury for a free-admission concert on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. The program, titled “Classical Rhapsody,” will feature local performer Teresa de Freitas playing George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with the orchestra. Samuel A. Kyzer, a former band director at Knox Middle School, will conduct the 50-member all-volunteer group, which rehearses weekly at Eastside Baptist Church in Mooresville. The orchestra previously performed on Oct. 25 at Laurel Gray Winery and will finish its 2026 season on Dec. 4 at Davidson United Methodist Church. The concert will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” works by Robert W. Smith, and Broadway-themed selections conducted by oboist Harold Goldner, among others.
