Major fashion retailer begins closing all remaining 37 stores - the dates confirmed

Quiz has begun closing the remaining 37 stores after entering administration, marking a rapid end to the fashion retailer's high-street presence. The company, which entered administration in February for a second time in 12 months, appointed Interpath partners Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs as joint administrators. Interpath announced a closure plan that would see all 37 shops shut before the end of June. The move puts more than 100 head office and warehouse jobs at risk. Earlier closures included Belfast Castlecourt Shopping Centre, Leeds, and Romford.

Six more Quiz stores have closed since the announcement, including Aberdeen, Basingstoke, Bracknell, Dunfermline, Inverness, and Warrington. Drapers also lists eight further closures planned in coming days: Hanley, Mansfield (June 13); Carlisle and Eastbourne (June 14); Watford (June 16); Clydebank (June 17); Irvine (June 19); Portsmouth (June 20). Northampton could shut over the weekend if stock sells through. The remaining 23 sites are due to close by end-June, with Cardiff, Castleford, Craigavon, Derby, Gateshead Metro, Glasgow stores and Manchester branches among them; exact dates are yet to be confirmed. Discounts of up to 80% are offered to clear stock and pay debts, while concessions in New Look and Matalan stores are not included in the administration.
