Marietta's Theatre in the Square stages recent Tony winner 'Ragtime'

Marietta’s Theatre in the Square will stage the Broadway revival of Ragtime, which recently won four Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical. The production opens this Friday, September 25, in Marietta, Georgia, with performances running through October 11 at Marietta’s Theatre in the Square, located at 11 Whitlock Avenue Southwest. Originally produced on Broadway in 1998, the musical is based on the acclaimed novel by E. L. Doctorow and blends fictional characters with historical figures. The story follows three groups—white, Black, and immigrant—pursuing the “American Dream.” The score is by Stephen Flaherty with lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and the book was written by Terrence McNally.
