More than musicians: Meet the newest members of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame
Seven Kentuckians will be inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame during the Hall’s biannual ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Campbell House, continuing its efforts to fund statewide music education and preserve Kentucky’s musical heritage. Since 2002, the Hall has highlighted Kentucky’s stories from its home in Renfro Valley, known as the state’s country music capital. Executive director Jessica Blankenship said the organization honors more than performers, recognizing industry figures and community supporters who keep traditions alive and open doors for the next generation. The class of 2026 includes posthumous honoree Arthur B. Hancock III, a Paris, Kentucky native who recorded country and bluegrass, wrote songs performed by Willie Nelson, Ray Price and Grandpa Jones, and worked at Stone Farm in the horse industry. The article also notes the Hall inducted its first non-musician in 2024 and outlines additional members of the Class of 2026.
