Morgan Wallen Had Zach Bryan Questioning Everything He Thought About Nashville

Zach Bryan says his view of Nashville has changed, and he credits help from conversations with other artists—most notably Morgan Wallen. In a recent discussion with Matthew McConaughey, Bryan explained that his longstanding resentment toward “Music City” was largely tied to his own mindset rather than to people who live and work there. He points to sobriety and talks with fellow musicians, including Jason Isbell and Wallen, as turning points. Earlier, he criticized Nashville’s mainstream country formulas and the polished radio sound. A stretch of sessions and shows in Nashville reinforced his shift.
