Netflix’s “Below” is set to challenge the 2026 horror spot held by Apple TV’s “Widow’s Bay,” with a small-town creature premise premiering in April and early details emerging ahead of release. “Widow’s Bay” debuted with a New England island story tied to a centuries-old curse and earned critical acclaim, leading to a renewal for a second season. Netflix’s upcoming six-episode limited series “Below,” created by Jesse McKeown and Jessica Rhoades, arrives on Netflix on October 8, 2026, and shifts the setting to a remote town in Newfoundland. It follows residents forced to fight back as a mysterious sea creature threatens their way of life.
