Netflix to show 2030 World Cup: exclusive rights for Spain and Andorra

Netflix says it will acquire exclusive broadcast rights to the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking its first men’s World Cup venture. The streaming giant made the announcement on its Spanish social media accounts, saying the agreement is limited to those two territories. It also includes one match per matchday available for free in Spain. In addition, Spain’s national team games, the semifinals and the final will air on a national television channel, though Netflix has not yet detailed the full distribution plan. Netflix’s move follows similar expansion in other major soccer tournaments and U.S.-leaning sports deals.
