Networks resume covering White House as legal battle continues

U.S. television networks resumed covering President Donald Trump’s White House events on Friday after a court fight over the administration’s decision to block CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the presidential grounds. The White House press pool aired video of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s arrival for tea and the two leaders touring the National Archives, home of the U.S. Constitution. CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News and NBC share the costs of covering the president and rotate pool footage. Coverage of Xi’s trip had been absent until Friday because other networks had refused to set up cameras in solidarity. Trump declined to answer questions on China and Iran and later said, “We appreciate the fair coverage.”
