New Apple Music logo was made with sound and mineral oil
xCruzo Brief
Apple has unveiled a redesigned Apple Music logo shaped by sound waves rippling through mineral oil—done without AI or CGI. It’s the biggest logo overhaul since the streaming service launched in 2015. The new look is expected to arrive with iOS 27.2 next week. Apple says the logo was “physically shaped by an original composition” by British producer Fred again and NEST Acoustics. A behind-the-scenes video shows each note being played through a transducer to create physical vibrations that deform the liquid, with months of tuning needed to keep the image readable. Apple Music’s wordmark and app icon also change.
