Moncus Park Is Launching a Free Concert Series Every Thursday in June

Moncus Park in Lafayette is launching Sunset Sessions, a four-night, free outdoor concert series every Thursday in June. The event opens June 4 with Latin Night featuring La Tran-K Band, then continues June 11 with Cajun Night featuring Chère Élise, June 18 with Zydeco Night featuring Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, and June 25 with Country Night featuring Dyer County. Each evening includes free dance lessons from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., while live music runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, and parking is $10 per vehicle, with all proceeds benefiting Moncus Park. Food trucks are expected to complement the performances, adding a festive community vibe. Beyond Sunset Sessions, Moncus Park hosts a slate of summer programming, including a Father's Day Pop‑Up on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with food trucks, yard games, and a fly-fishing demonstration by Acadiana Flyrodders from 11 a.m. to noon (no registration required). National Food Truck Day arrives June 26, with more than a dozen local trucks, free yard games and face painting, and a full bar from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Doerle Pavilion will stage Q Major and Dwight James and The Royals from 6 to 8 p.m. Parking is $2 per hour 11 a.m.–4 p.m., then a flat $10 per vehicle, and all parking proceeds go to Moncus Park.
