Ayr singer launching new album as tribute to mother's musical legacy

Ayr singer Maggie MacInnes releases a new album as a tribute to her mother’s musical legacy. The project, Uiseagan Bharraigh, draws from Flora MacNeil MBE’s 1955–1961 recordings, now digitised with Creative Scotland support, under The Kalokerinos Tapes show. Maggie researched the songs learned from her mother, grandmother, aunt, and Barra’s musical circle, and collaborated with Calum Park, Dan Brown, Robyn Gray, Ailis Sutherland, Wendy Weatherby, and Alex Palmer. The album marks Maggie’s seventh solo release and includes her work on video games. It debuts June 15 in CD and digital formats at maggiemacinnes.co.uk, with a live performance planned at Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine on June 19.
